- Directly from Mike Waddell himself, “Given that a TV show and Video Game are being made about the storyline, I’ve decided to complete the Cryptid Nation story as a book that will be published end of August/early September!”
- On March 3, 2022, Mike Waddell announced in the Official MetaZoo Games Discord server: “The last of the illustrated chapters has sold out on the MetaZoo Marketplace! I hope you all are looking forward to the BOOK!”

On July 7, 2022, Mike Waddell announced: “August 12th, 2022, the first draft of the first book in the MetaZoo series will be submitted for review to publishers.”
On July 11, 2022, Mike Waddell announced: “It’s time! MetaZoo’s IP partner will be Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc. (WME)! Get ready for news related to our upcoming book, MetaZoo: Cryptid Nation, and the amazing games, shows, and toys that will be based on it!”
On November 2, 2022, Mike Waddell announced: “MetaZoo – Cryptid Nation (Book 1) will have its first draft completed and sent to editors December 1st, 2022.
